TSX "Last Sale" Trading Session

The Toronto Stock Exchange offers a "Last Sale Trading Session" (LSTS) from 4:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET). During this extended trading session, trades will be allowed to be executed at the current day’s closing price on a best efforts basis.

What orders are eligible for this trading session?

Limit Day and Good Till orders in multiples of board lots with a bid or ask price equal to the price of the Last Sale Trade including Special Terms orders eligible for crossover to the LSTS.

Please note that although the Order Status feature on the BMO InvestorLine web site and the Automated Telephone Trading system will indicate that an equity order set to expire on the current day will show "expired" after 4:00 PM ET, the order may continue to be eligible for execution until 5:00 PM ET.

In order to place a trade or cancel an order eligible for the Last Sale Trading Session, please phone a BMO InvestorLine Representative. Please inform the Trading Representative the order is for the TSX Last Sale Trading Session, otherwise the order will be submitted for the next business day.

All client orders entered after 4:00 p.m. through the BMO InvestorLine Web site or the Automated Telephone Trading system will not participate in the extended Last Sale Trading System and will be entered for trading the following business day.

How do I change an outstanding order?

If you wish to change the quantity of your Limit Order or Cancel your order for the LSTS, please phone your BMO InvestorLine Representative before 5 PM ET. Changes to the price on orders in the LSTS are not allowed during this trading session.

Note: When you CFO and order during a LSTS the same rules to "changing an order" during the regular trading session also apply.

Are there any restrictions that can be placed on orders eligible for the LSTS?

New Special Terms Orders placed for the LSTS (such as All or None or Minimum Quantity special instructions), Day Orders with a price other than the last sale price, and Market Orders are not eligible to participate in the LSTS.

How will my trade be executed?

Execution of orders eligible for the LSTS will depend upon matching bid and offered share quantities in the LSTS market.
