As an Active Trader, it's important to have low commission rates to maximize your returns, and the right tools to stay on top of the markets. With BMO InvestorLine, you get both.

Low Commission Rates of just $9.95*
  • Active Trader clients pay a flat fee of just $9.95* on all electronic trades executed through our website or Automated Telephone Trading service.
  • This low fee applies to all Canadian and U.S. equity trades, regardless of the share price or quantity, so you'll realize substantial savings on commissions.
Powerful tools for powerful investors

To help you stay on top of the markets and make better-informed investing decisions, you'll have access to:

  • NEW! Market Streamer - a customizable, user-friendly, dynamic data tool that provides access to reliable, real time streaming quotes for stocks, ETFs, options and indices on all major North American exchanges. Robust features including market movers, advanced charting and custom watchlists.
  • Level II Quotes - real-time quotes of the bid and ask orders which show you the depth of the market.
  • Real-time Quotes throughout the site - access to real-time trading information to keep you on top of the markets.

How to Qualify

  • Execute 30 or more electronic equity and/or option trades per quarter and sign up for eServices, and you'll gain automatic access to the Active Trader Program***.
  • Your status for the Program will be evaluated each month based on your trading activity for the previous three calendar months.

For example, for you to qualify for the Program starting July 1, you'll need to execute 30 or more qualifying trades from April 1 to June 30.

Consolidate your trades and save

Your total eligible trades across all your BMO InvestorLine accounts are used as qualification for the Active Trader Program. So consider combining your investment accounts from other financial institutions with BMO InvestorLine to take advantage of the Program and get more value for your trading.

*All trades will be charged on a per order basis and are not bundled for discounts. Electronic option trades are charged $9.95 plus $1.25 per contract.
