Win with eStatements Contest Rules and Regulations

The sole sponsor of the following promotion, the "Win with eStatements Contest” (the "Contest"), is BMO InvestorLine Inc. ("BMO InvestorLine"). The Contest shall only be construed and evaluated according to Canadian law.

How to Enter:

No purchase is necessary. The contest period is from November 1, 2006 to December 31, 2006. There are three (3) ways to enter electronically:

  1. Sign up for eStatements by selecting the eServices option of your Account Profile. Sign into your account online at bmoinvestorline.com, and edit your Account Profile found under the Account Services section.
  2. Call a BMO InvestorLine representative to sign up your account for eStatements.
  3. Non-account holders of BMO InvestorLine will receive one (1) contest ballot after completion of the Online Application process (and signing up for eServices in the appropriate field) for a new account with BMO InvestorLine within the BMO InvestorLine website (bmoinvestorline.com or bmolignedaction.com). This ballot will be eligible only after BMO InvestorLine has approved your account application.

For "No Purchase" entries, you can enter by mail. “No Purchase” entries will be eligible for the last prize draw only. Please write, by hand, a 1,000-word essay in English or French on BMO InvestorLine’s Guided Investing®. Submissions should be on a plain piece of paper and must include your name, address, age and daytime telephone number at the end of the essay. Entries cannot be mechanically reproduced. Each entry by mail must be sent in a separate, postage-paid envelope to: BMO InvestorLine “Win with eStatements Contest”, 100 King Street West, 54th floor, Toronto ON M5X 1H3. Only one (1) mailed-in entry per household during the contest period will be accepted.

All entries must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on December 31, 2006, after which time the Contest will be closed.

The odds of being selected in the random draw(s) depend on the number of eligible entries actually received.

Prizes:

There will be one (1) cash prize of $1,000 awarded each month for 2 months, on the dates set out below. BMO InvestorLine will provide a cheque in the winner ’s name.

Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are non-transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for different items.

How to win: 

The draws will include ballots from all eligible entries received. One ballot per account. Each ballot received, including any winning ballots, will be re-entered for each subsequent draw. Entrants are eligible to win more than one cash prize.

A random draw will be conducted by BLACK, a third-party independent communications agency, on the following days, from all eligible entries received.

Prize #1 draw date: December 11, 2006 at 5:00 pm ET
Prize #2 draw date: January 12, 2007 at 5:00 pm ET

All draws will take place in Toronto, Ontario. The prizes will be awarded to the first entry drawn excluding duplicates.

In order to win, the entrant must hold an active BMO InvestorLine account, or have had their Online Application approved by BMO InvestorLine, or have entered their “No Purchase” essay by December 31, 2006 before 5:00 pm.

Potential winners will be contacted by telephone. Attempts will be made to contact potential winners using the telephone numbers listed in our client database, or on the information provided on the mailed in entry, for a period of five (5) business days. If efforts to communicate with the potential winner have not been successful by 11:59 p.m. ET at the end of the 5th business day after the day the potential winner's ballot was drawn, the selected entrant will no longer be eligible to win and another entrant will be drawn and the process of contacting the new potential winner will be repeated.

Only potential winners will be contacted. To be confirmed as a winner, the potential winners must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question, must be eligible according to the official rules and must sign a waiver form and liability/publicity releases.

General:

To enter and be eligible to win, entrants must be individuals permanently residing in Canada who are of the age of majority in their province of residence. The employees, representatives and agents of Bank of Montreal, BMO InvestorLine Inc., any of their affiliates, BLACK, and their respective advertising, media buying, promotion agencies, and members of their respective immediate families, persons with whom any of the foregoing are domiciled, are not eligible to enter this contest.

By entering, entrants acknowledge that they have read these official rules and agree to abide by the official rules of the Contest and the decisions of BMO InvestorLine and BLACK, which are final. To accept the prize(s), the winner(s) will be required to sign a waiver form and liability/publicity releases granting BMO InvestorLine or the Bank of Montreal permission to use their names, address, voice, comments, and photograph for publicity purposes without compensation. If a potential winner fails to sign and return the waiver form within 21 days, BMO InvestorLine reserves the right to void that entry and select another eligible entrant.

This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations. For residents of Quebec, any litigation involving a Quebec resident respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation involving a Quebec resident respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement. No purchase of any product or service is required in order to enter this Contest.

The names of all winners will be posted online on or after February 1, 2006, and will also be available by sending a self-addressed envelope bearing sufficient postage to: Winners List, BMO InvestorLine Win with eServices Contest, 100 King Street West, 54th floor, Toronto ON M5X 1H3.
